Paying Attention Actually Pays. Neato.
September 14, 2009 | Todd G.Attention all of you college students looking to make an extra buck…A new Web site called gradeguru.com has come up with an ingenious way for you to sell the notes you take in class. No joke. Those diligent notes you take are actually worth something to someone, namely your classmates. Here’s how it works, you take notes and upload them to the gradeguru Web site. This earns you points, which can then be exchanged for cash through Paypal or rewards through their partners. I’m seriously not kidding.
The site says the average course of notes is worth about $50. Not bad for something you didn’t think you’d be paid for. On the flip side, if you’re the one seeking notes just do a search on the site to see if someone has uploaded from your class. Incidentally, the notes are free to view, but you are encouraged to register if you want to upload and get paid, or if you plan on viewing more than ten sets of notes. I think the most difficult part would be translating my handwriting into a text file. My notes could double for hieroglyphics. Is anyone using the site, currently? I’d love to hear some firsthand accounts from students who are actually getting paid for paying attention.
