Thank goodness for people like you though - you make it easier for people like me to stand out in class, after class, and out of class. I still send my favorite professor a christmas card every year, heck, I'm good friends with my Language Arts teacher from 6th grade! This thursday I plan to have tea with one of my professors and I'm 4 years out of college. You can imagine what I was like in college. Professors are such lovely and interesting people, and they tend to know a lot of former students (like me) and are often able to connect people in similar fields. And, if I ever decide to go to grad school, I'll have a recommendation in no time flat. NO, that’s not what everyone does! It never occurred to me to have this close of a relationship with my teachers in college. Most of them were TA's (teachers assistants). But even the professors were just people teaching the class. You just go, listen to the lectures, absorb the knowledge, and pass the tests. Isn't that what everyone does? Interesting.
