Taylor Swift Delivers Hugs to Two College Seniors

If you haven’t seen the story yet, then you simply must be told. Two buddies who are seniors at Auburn University in Alabama came up with the idea to ask for a hug from Taylor Swift. They started a Web site and a Facebook page and the idea took off as thousands of people joined the cause. It soon got the attention of Taylor Swift who created videos for the guys with requests for them to complete certain challenges.
From helping an elderly woman across the street to honoring her favorite number (13) in clever and inventive ways, the duo not only made their own videos they amassed hundreds from their readers…and Taylor was thoroughly impressed. Her final request was for the two to set up a karaoke night at a hotel and she made a surprise appearance. Hugging the two Seniors and inviting them to a future show. This is just another great example of the power of social media to get a message out…and if it’s sticky enough, it might even succeed in getting you a hug from your favorite country music star.

I wouldn’t mind getting a hug from the other Taylor (Lautner!), even if he is way too young for me. This is a great story, I love it!
I would be struck speechless by a hug from Ira Glass. Or even a handshake. Or a “Hello.” Or a postcard. I think I want to curl up in Ira Glass’ goodness on any level!
It’s so strange to think of Ira Glass being in his 50s (he’s 51!). I think of him as being perpetually in his early-to-mid 30s.
