Whether it is summer or winter, I see all sorts of students flashing their toes, followed by the slip slap sounds of the ever-favorite flip flop sandal. They’re like the socially acceptable slipper. People slip them on because it’s quick, and (I suppose) comfortable to wear. And, because of their popularity, there are numerous colors and styles for everyone to choose from.

Laptops – they are a quick means to take notes, look up information, and even play a game of solitaire or IM with buddies in the middle of a teacher’s lecture. Let’s face it, when students pop open their laptops in class, very few, if any, actually use their personal computers for homework’s sake. So, why are laptops allowed in the classroom then?
Although there are a handful of options when it comes to paying for college, the two most common picks are always student loans and financial aid. Unless you come from a wealthy family, affording an education does not come easy. Even if a student manages to land some grants and scholarships, that money still won’t cover all of the expenses a student needs.
Tuition, units, books, miscellaneous materials, and the cost of living in a dorm can really make students struggle. No wonder there are so many options for paying for school. So, what really is the best way to pay for your college education? Although many people turn to student loans, I say it is much wiser to look into a combination of all other possibilities in order to avoid putting yourself in-debt.
Whichever career you end up choosing after college does not necessarily mean that you need to start at the fanciest university to earn a lot of money. A recent study (currently being provided on Yahoo!’s headlines) shows that it isn’t the school that ensures a student will earn the most money in the future. Although Harvard, Stanford, and Yale made the list, they are not at the very top of the list. Take a close look at “College Grads: Which Ones Earn the Most?” and you’ll find that your future won’t be wealthy because of the school you attend, but because of the major you pick.
I don’t know if it is me or not, but it feels like texts are harder to ignore than phone calls.
It isn’t always easy to start writing an essay, but the whole writing process is simplified so much more when students prewrite. And, the results are so much better, too.
Most of us hate the idea of doing extra work before we actually start our homework. But, writing an impressive essay actually requires putting in a little extra effort prior to putting together a final draft.
There is just some magic that comes over me, and possibly many others, when that Olympic torch is lit. But, I know that as soon as that fire is extinguished, I will once again lose interest
I am not trying to knock honor students or ignore all of their hard work, but I have yet to see how taking honor classes provides any real benefit to a student’s future.
Whatever the case, at some point, you computer will be rendered incapacitated for a time, and you will have to find some way to cope.
