To Wonder and Wander: A Worldview of Travel

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely . . . Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”  –Mark Twain

I sat with an American businessman in the home of a Palestinian [...]

Natalee Holloway, 19, was last seen leaving a nightclub with three men in Aruba when she disappeared in 2005. In April, 23 year old Aubrey Sacco went missing while hiking alone in Nepal. Right off the bat, you’ve got [...]

Does College Admission and Success Boil Down to Class?

Yes, your letters have already been sent off and you have probably already received your responses, but in case some of you are wondering why acceptance has been so difficult, there [...]

One Dress, One Girl, One Year

School uniforms may seem boring, but they definitely save on clothing, and sometimes spark the creativity of kids who accessorize to look different every day. Students in the United States might complain about their uniforms, but some kids halfway around the world would wear love to wear them, accessorized or not, because it means they can [...]

Grad Students Consider Unionizing

Helping teachers in and out of the classroom while applying themselves to their own studies is hard work; so, why aren’t graduate students given the right to unionize? Is it because they do not earn much money for their work? Frankly, being able to unionize seems like it would at least be a bit of compensation to earn for working for little pay. Take away the title “grad student” and the job is similar to that of an instructional assistant.
